2012 Coaching Staff
John Allen
Head Coach
This is Coach Allen’s second year as the head coach of the Central
Purple Pounders. He began his coaching career as an assistant
at Tennessee Wesleyan College then joined the staff at Rhea County
High School, both alma maters. He then served as head coach at
Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe and Bradley Central High School. For
the past five years, he coached at Silverdale Baptist Academy.
This marks his 13th year as a head coach and his 22nd
overall in coaching. Coach Allen and his wife Amy have three
children – Will, Elizabeth, and Henry.
Glenn Carter
Offensive Coordinator
Coach
Carter graduated Red Bank High School in 1992, played
basketball and baseball all four years. He attended Carson
Newman 92-94 on a baseball scholarship then transferred to
University of Southern Mississippi while playing baseball
and received a bachelors degree in health and human
performance.
Coach Carter taught and coached at North Jackson High School
in Stevenson AL for 7 years. While there he was an assistant
football coach and the head baseball coach. He came to
Central in 2005 and has been a assistant football coach and
head baseball coach since. Coach Carter has a 8 year old
daughter Madison.
Jerry Cook
Defensive Coordinator
This
is Coach Cook's second year as the defensive coordinator and
assistant head coach of the Central Purple Pounders. He has
coached the past 13 years at Rhea County High School and in
Spring City. He is a '94 graduate of Rhea County. Coach Cook
received his degree from Middle Tn. State University and his
masters from Tn. Tech. Coach Cook and his wife Mandy have two
kids, Cade (8) and Maelyn (5).
